Dinosaurs Galore!!!

On a recent Saturday, our little family took a trip across the bay to see the dinosaurs that were invading downtown!!!
At first, Noah was a little uncertain about the size of these realistic robots, but then we all had a big laugh! I took about a million pictures, but could never post them all; we truly had a happy fun day!

Dad took one for a spin!
Mom's turn...

Oops!!!

We went on Alabama's A-Day, so we all had our matching attire!!!

And Noah has asked every day since, "When can we go to the dinosaur museum?!?!?"

The garden

For the past couple of years, I have been wanting to plant a small garden. Nothing huge, just a few rows, ya know, enough to show Noah the process of growth. This year, Noah has talked nonstop about wanting to plant carrots. Why? I have no idea, because he absolutely refuses to eat them!!!
We really don't have anywhere for a garden to grow. Our dog terrorizes the back yard as it is, so that's definitely out. And I didn't really want it out front. So, we dedided to plant our garden in pots!!! We have cherry tomatoes, big tomatoes, garden beans, cantaloupe, pickling cucumbers, and of course, carrots!!!
And I honestly did not think anything would grow. Not because we are doing anything wrong. I just thought that it'd take weeks for sprouts, and by then Noah would have given up. Well, he has done the opposite! He wants to check on his garden all day long!!!

Above are our beans and cukes, only 2 weeks old!!!
And I am thinking....not bad!!!

Well, once Derrick saw how dedicated we were, and he knew how much I wanted a garden, he finally surprised me with a solution!!!
There is a little corner of our yard that we figured out a way to section off, and Derrick had his friend from work come over and till it up for me!!!
And my uncle agreed to come over this week and put up a small fence and gate, rather than the plywood that you see here, so I planted away!!!
Yes, that is a Thomas the Train toy in one row. It serves a purpose!!!
Stay tuned for more on this, the progress of it, and our gated fence!!!

Farm Living is the Life for Me!!!

Derrick's cousin raises chicken and sells the eggs. And to be quite honest, I've never had better eggs in my life! So, today, we stopped by for a dozen and a half, and Noah came to the conclusion that he should be a farmer for a day. And his first order of duty today was to count the eggs. Next, it was on to bigger and better things....catching a chicken!!!

After about 30 minutes of unsuccessful attempts by Noah, cousin Dusty was more than happy to catch one for us!

And he showed Noah what to do!

Another hard day of work at the farm!!!

Just a few things new!!!

We had a wonderful Easter around here, and we are absolutely enjoying spring....and all of the things new!!!
I just wanted to share a few pictures and random thoughts.

The Easter bunny bring very little around here, due to the fact that the emphasis is on Jesus, not a bunny. The "hot item" this year was a Toy Story handheld game!!!

Turns out that Noah is quite the little cake artist.
That is a giraffe, and a little boy named Noah with blue eyes, and "yellow" hair. Mr. Noah is very "artsy craftsy!"

Noah insisted this year that he needed to plant carrot seeds. He doesn't like carrots a whole lot, but he said he'd eat the ones he grows. There will be more to come in the upcoming weeks about our "garden!" Look for that post soon.

And I'll leave you with this....

Have you hugged a Llama today?!?!?

Remembering....

In Loving Memory of Rev. Lloyd H. Lane, Sr.

March 6 1930-April 4, 2010

He was my great-uncle. I have several fond memories of him.

Every summer, my grandmother and I would spend a week with Uncle Lloyd, and his wife Aunt Alice. I would play with his grandchildren, and have so much fun listening to the "old timers" stories!

Aunt Alice went to be with the Lord back in 2004, and Uncle Lloyd was so blessed to find Aunt Joyce to spend the rest of his life with.

She took very good care of him, from what I could see.

The above picture is my Aunt Eunice, Aunt Joyce, and Uncle Lloyd at a singing about 2 years ago.

Uncle Lloyd sure will be missed, but I am so happy that he is shouting and singing on streets of gold, and he is with King Jesus!

II Timothy 4:7-8,18

***Just a side note: I am aware that this is the third death posted on here since August. I am not trying to be morbid or anything, it's just my way of paying tribute to those who are now with the Lord.

It's time...

A great man that I went to church with passed away this week, and a memorial was held for him yesterday. The song Beulah Land was sung, as it is at many funerals and memorials. One line has been in my head ever since, and I can't stop thinking about it.

Beulah Land
I'm kind of homesick for a country
To which I've never been before.
No sad goodbyes will there be spoken
for time won't matter anymore.
(Chorus)
Beulah Land, I'm longing for you
and some day on thee I'll stand.
There my home shall be eternal.
Beulah Land -- Sweet Beulah Land
I'm looking now across the river
where my faith will end in sight.
There's just a few more days to labor.
Then I will take my heavenly flight.
It says "time won't matter anymore."
That's so hard for me to comprehend. Everything, but everything, is determined by time. Time to get up, time to go to work/school, time to eat, day time, night time, time to clean, time to blog....
Anyway, time is an essential part of everyday. It is what seperates days.
And the song clearly tells me that there is a better place where it just won't matter anymore.
This isn't such a cutesy-wutesy post. It's more of a "what I'm feeling now" kinda thing.
It also says "no sad goodbyes will there be spoken!" That's pretty exciting news too! Too many times I have had to say good bye, and it's never easy. A couple of times, I didn't know it would be the last good bye. That's really not easy. But I am happy to know that it's not really the last good bye. There will be a glad reunion day!!!
I guess I'm just excited about two new things. I have always known this song, and these facts, but it's just exciting to be reminded that one day it will be forever and ever!!!
