Nicholas Brees & other summer news

We are pleased to announce the arrival of Mr. Nicholas Brees, who joined us on August 6, 2011!!!He weighed in at 9 lbs 8ozs and was 21 inches long!!!

And mom is still recovering!!! :)

Nah, it's been an adjustment for all of us, but we are loving every minute of it. I can't go any further without saying this "Kudos to you .....I had no idea what this would be like......and I have a new respect for people with more than one child!"

Like I said, we are loving every minute of this precious little doll....

And, if you are still reading this, I'd suggest getting a cup of coffee or a big glass of sweet tea, because you're gonna be here for a few minutes. Somehow in my late high blood pressure pregnancy, I kinda quit my ole blog. But, now I'm back, and if it takes me 3 days, I'll finish a post!

These are just some highlights from our summer, more happened, but these are just the highlights.....keep up!

I'll actually start with one more piece of big news, before getting into the groove of memory posting!

Big brother Noah started 1st grade!

He was so excited, and still is! He is doing great in 1st grade, and loves his teacher, as do I.

And little brother Nicholas got to be there too!

And one more sad fact before summer posting, the day after these 1st day of school pictures were taken, my Uncle Ted went to be with the Lord after a short battle with cancer. He's the one who taught me x's and o's...that's defense and offense and kisses and hugs....when I was little, and helped reinforce the ROLL TIDE I so often speak of! He also would come play tea party with me, or tell me stories of his days in the Navy, or let me put his hair in pigtails.....you know, regular uncle/neice stuff. He's also the one that I sat with for a week in May while he was in the hospital, and I was there when he was diagnosed with lung cancer. It was sad seeing him in that hospital bed, and that's before he got bad. I wasn't able to see him during his last days on earth, but I rejoice in the fact that I'll see him and our Maker one day! Rest in peace. Final and absolute peace Uncle Ted....be a simple kinda man, because you're as free as a bird now!

Ok, on to happier moments....

I think I left off somewhere around here....

This little sweet doll came all the way from Arkansas to see us, along with her parents, and
I was so pleased to meet her! She is my cousin, and I love love love her!!! See Noah's reaction to this little girl in a Razorback dress....Souie!!!

Then we made another trip up to TN, to see these folks.....

It's hubby's family.

And these guys too....

And to carry on our tradition, as the last time as a family of three, we had our picture made on "our bench" at Loretta Lynn's Kitchen....the restaurant, not her actual kitchen!

And Aunt T/Mom even got to spend a Friday night out on a date with these good looking fellas!
If you haven't seen Cars 2 with three handsome young men, you should!!!

Then we said our goodbyes and headed south!!!

About 2 weeks after we got home, we heard from D's neice that she and her hubby were headed to Pensacola Beach for a few days, and they invited Bubba, Aunt T, and Noah to come see them.

So we had to go to lunch at one of our favorite spots....one of our favorites that we rarely get to go to....but this was a special occasion, almost my birthday!

It was a rainy day, so we ate, went to the hotel, then went to the beach while it sprinkled, then went to the hotel, then went putt putt, then after the floods came, we headed back across the state line...again!

Then the following Saturday of July was my 26th birthday.....my folks brought me a cookie cake to celebrate.

And that pretty much sums up most of the high points of our summer. There was more, but I figured enough's enough!!! And hopefully, I'll be back, lots sooner than before!!!

Ya'll come back now, ya hear!
