Crimson Tide Yacht....Part 1

I have mentioned in several posts that we got a boat earlier in the year. We refer to it as the Crimson Tide Yacht. It's actually our miracle boat, and over a series of posts, I will tell ya why!

Let's start at the beginning....a really good place to start!

Some of you may remember us going out on my parents boat at the start of the year.

If not, click here for a few more pictures like the one below!

Well, I had known ever since we got married that D has always loved the water, and everything to do with it, and one of his goals was to get a boat. A big big boat. After going that Saturday with my mom and dad earlier this year, he really begin working on me. "Wasn't that fun Tiffany?" "Did you see how much Noah enjoyed himself?" "Wouldn't that be something we'd want to do?" I told him that while I'd love a boat, it's just not in the budget. D is a very good breadwinner, but we had a baby on the way, one in 1st grade, and a mortgage!!! So, I just didn't see it happening....wow, such little faith!

Then it happened.....

D comes home from work one Friday with "the news."

D: "Tiffany, I found us a boat!"

T: "I'm not getting a job!"

D: "You won't have to, a guy at work offered me his old boat for $150.00!"

T: "$150.00 a month?"

D: "$50.00 altogether!!! It's fully loaded too, wait till you see it! I mean, it needs a little work here and there, but please....it's only $150.00."

So, he took off in his pickup and came back with the beauty. I'm inside cooking, he comes running in....."hurry, come see it...this thing's loaded!"

I took one look at that boat in my yard and my response was:

"D---you are loaded!!!"

By a little work here and there, D meant....

...some cleaning...

...a floor and seats.....

(That spare tire that was included is for a 5-lug, the trailer is a 4-lug!!!)

.....and a foot for a motor that may or may not work!!!!

And the worst part....the interior vinyl was all ORANGE!!! That color is not allowed for us, and if ya watch SEC football, you know why! ;)

So, of course, I asked had he already paid for it, and he said, no. The co-worker agreed to let us keep it for the weekend, make sure there were no leaks, and get estimates on parts.

Check back soon for part 2, and remember, I have so much to thank Him for!

We ate tacos, had carrot cake(at his request!), the kids played water balloons, and we roasted marshmallows on an open fire....sort of!
This is Cameron with his daddy, my brother-n-law!

And in the words of Cameron, "This is a great party!!!"

First picture tells the story!!!

So busy that I am posting lots of stories in one. They could each use their own post, but let's make do!!!!

1.First up,this sweet girl celebrated her 13th birthday at our house!!!
It's hard to believe Miss Felicity Michelle is now a teenager!!!
You saw that right....she had a bass fish on her cake! See, she really is my niece!!!

And I wish you many many more!!!

2.Noah has been doing good in school, and when he's not there, he's outside....

having fun with family....
...and friends!

3. I had a doctors appointment in the same town where my grandmother lives, and we went to this awesome yogurt shop!!!

Check them out here!

You go in, pick your flavor(s) & topping(s), fix it yourself, then pay $0.45 an ounce, and enjoy!

That's Na-Na enjoying her yogurt.....see the lady with kiwi eyes behind Na-Na?!?

4. And what about baby Nicholas Brees???

He's quite a stinker, and a face maker. I may do a face maker post soon...don't hold your breath though!!!

And he's a little fussy.....especially at supper time! We make do!

^^^ Not the best picture^^^....

Daddy has had lots of overtime lately due to someone being fired, so my 1st grade photographer did this!!!

Nicholas likes this too!

5. We were sitting here Sunday afternoon, and someone knocked on our door. It was one of our sweet neighbors, and he asked Derrick to come out to the truck and look at something. I was nursing whistle-britches, so I remained inside. When D came back in, he had a box, and he asked me, "How old are baby's when they start eating baby food jars?" I told him I have no idea (I'm sure I have it in some reading material, but who has time for that!!!), and asked why did he need to know that. He then showed me what was in that box....

Our neighbor says they weren't home that afternoon, but when they got home, this box was on their porch!!! They have no idea why, unless someone thought they were leaving it for us. We haven't had anyone ask us about this, or offer it to us. Either way, it's a blessing that I was happy to get!!! There is a good mixture of fruit and veggies here, so that's good to get us started!!!

6. And again, I'll try not to wait so long again between posts, or at least give them each their own due. But, we'll have to see!!! I am excited about the next couple of weeks, it's fall!!! MY FAVORITE! Lots of football watching, birthdays, and cooler weather awaits!

7.I want to leave you with a sermonette....it's brief!

"Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah."-Psalms 68:19

Dake's sidenote of that says ,"God daily provides, supports, and upholds us with His own salvation."

I think that is marvelous!!!

Also, Ephesians 5:13:

"But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light."

In other words, things that you do that are wrong (or maybe good things, but with wrong intentions) will be seen one day. God will not allow secret sin to go on without shining a light on it! God is all knowing, He sees everyone and everything. I don't know why, but this has just been on my mind, and I felt lead to share it on here!

Ok, thanks for staying with me! Be blessed!

Thankful Tuesday-Homemaker Edition

Lots of times I feel like this.....

Try to look like and be this.....

But when I look at this....

I try to remember this!!!

Many people think that being a full time homemaker and stay at home mom is the easiest job around. "Oh she gets to sit around all day and do whatever she wants."

If only it were that easy.

But, I am honored and blessed to be given the opportunity to be a full time homemaker.

I am thankful to have a hard working husband, who works all day, then comes home, and sometimes helps our older son with his handwriting or homework, maybe even play outside a little bit, helps him get a shower, and helps him get ready for bed, all while helping me keep colicky baby boy from fussing. And not complaining one bit, or even looking for a thank you.

I am thankful to have family and friends who understand that not only do I have my sweet Noah to take care of, but now I have new baby Nicholas Brees to tend to also.

I am thankful to have sweet big brother Noah, who understands that when baby brother cries, he needs momma! Noah has been patient to say the least while we adjust to another family member. He makes me happy when skies are gray.

And I am thankful for baby boy Nicholas, who God has chosen to give us. While he can be a bit fussy at times, and seems to eat round the clock (yes, I'm nursing!), he is truly a blessing, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

So ya see, I have so much to thank HIM for!!!
